Unity Technologies
May 2026 – Jul 2026American company specializing in video game software development and 3D content creation.
Unity Technologies operated a large-scale CI/CD infrastructure supporting 20+ build platforms and 6 active release lines. The current environment was anchored in an on-premises data center in Slough, UK, with additional workloads on GCP. Unity’s leadership had set a goal to increase CI velocity by 5x — scaling from approximately 2 pipeline runs per day to 10, and from roughly 100 pull requests per day to 1,000. To achieve this, Unity expanded its Azure presence by deploying an AKS cluster with supporting caching and build acceleration services, adding compute capacity for CI workloads, and migrating artifact storage to Azure Blob. This engagement was funded through the Microsoft ESIF/ECIF process, with EPAM acting as an extension of the Unity team.
